I was surfing around your site when I ran across the material on Sean
Morton, who claims he is an "initiated Tibetan monk." You are looking for
info to prove or refute his claims.
As someone who has been traveling over the Tibetan plateau for seven years,
I think I could refute his claims but I would need some more details.
Looking in my reference material, I can't find any T'ang Bachay Monastery,
but there is a Tangboche which could be what he refers to. It is not,
however, located anywhere near Everest, but in the Chonggye Valley near a
place called Tsetang. Questions that I would ask him are:
1. When was he there? (during some periods Tibet has been closed to foreigners)
2. Who was his teacher?
3. What vows, exactly, did he take?
4. If he is a monk, why doesn't he shave his head? (he should)
5. What language did he use to receive his teachings? (few Tibetans speak
English)
6. What did he eat at this monastery?
7. How did he get to this place? How long did he stay?
8. What sect of Buddhism is he in?
9. What pujas does he perform?
Answers to questions like these should distinguish between someone who has
done what he claims vs. someone who has merely visited Tibet as a tourist
vs. someone who made up the whole story.

I just ran across a reference to a Tengboche Monastery, this one beneath
Everest on the Nepal side. Since loads of trekkers pass this way, it's
quite possible that Sean Morton visited this place. However, I am still
skeptical that he is "an initiated monk." Initiation as a monk in Tibetan
Buddhism is not just a feather in one's spiritual cap, it's a whole outfit,
requiring strict adherence to severe vows (chastity, for one) and daily effort.
[Sean should be able to describe details of the Monastery, its
surroundings and its teachings. --GC]
