I asked Janet Hookailo, Director of Public Relations at Northeastern
University, to check on student records for a "Lee Shargel." Here's her
response. BTW, I interviewed "Lee Shargel" last night and couldn't get
a straight answer to any question. I'm writing an article and welcome
inputs from anyone with further information. - WT

Subject: re: URGENT question re "Dr." Lee Shargel

Northeastern University has no record of a student named Lee Shargel.
Someone named Leon D. Shargel registered for one course in our part-time
evening program in 1982. The university does not offer a degree in
Quantum Physics or in Egyptian Quantum Mechanics.

Founded in 1898, Northeastern is the nation's foremost practitioner of
co-operative education. Our full-time undergraduate programs enroll
nearly 11,000 students who alternate terms of traditional classroom
instruction with terms of paid, professional employment in jobs related
to their fields of study. Graduate enrollment stands at 2,300 full-time
students. Part-time students account for another 11,000 enrollees. We
offer a wide range of associate, bachelor's, master's and doctoral
dregrees in the disciplines and professinal areas represented by our
seven colleges, nine graduate and professional schools and two part-time
and continuing education divisions. Those programs range from arts and
sciences, to computer science, business administration, engineering,
nursing, pharmacy and health professions, criminal justice and more.
Our Physics Department and College of Computer Science are highly
respected. I'd be happy to send you a copy of our view book.

I have referred the information you e-mailed to me to our general
counsel's office. That office is interested in any additional
information you can provide, particularly Mr. Shargel's address. That
office can be reached by telephone at 617-373-2157.
