Subject: Pine Gap Web Site

The article you connected regarding the Pine Gap facililty may be a
copyright violation by its Australian author. There is a book out by
Desmond Ball, who co-authored two other books with Jeffrey Richelson,
about Pine Gap that has the same exact information. Desmond Ball
is/was at the Australian National University and is an expert on
Defense affairs in Australia, he would probably be shocked that his
book has been paraphrased into a web-site. How do I know? My father
worked there, and I have several of his books. I spoke to you several
months ago in person when my wife and I drove up from LV to Rachel. I
visited the Pine Gap web-site and found it very interesting, but also
disappointing because I haven't learned anything new to date. Infact
I can probably add some infomation that is not on that web-site.
Anyways it would be interesting to hear your comments on the subject.

Sincerely,

Stinky169

Dear Stinky --

Thanks for your note.

May I attach it to my Pine Gap web page next to the link to that site?
http://www.ufomind.com/ufo/place/au/pinegap/

There is never any copyright violation in _paraphasing_ a printed work,
only in copying the exactly words. However, if the information came from
another source, it is useful to the public to know what that source is.

That would be great! You can go ahead and attach it to the Web-site.
Unfortunately I do not remember the exact title of the book; I believe
that it may either be "Base of Insecurity" or just simply "Pine Gap."
If I can be of further service or provide more information please let
me know and I will dig in my library of information. In fact I do
have newspaper articles on Pine Gap from the local paper in Alice
Springs, the Centralian Advocate. Unfortunately I do not have a
scanner, but I could definitely pull some material from there and
acknowledge the source! Anyways, thank you for the
reply.
