"The Day After Roswell" by Col. Philip J. Corso Book Report by Stuart Russell As I read this book it became a giant vacuum cleaner that almost sucked me into its theme - the EBE are a coming and we have to prepare. Looking back I see that I set my anchor in reality on page fourteen where there is an error. The error is so basic that this book could not have been written by a combat veteran of World War II. Its so basis that I won't even give it the dignity of restating it. Read page fourteen again if you still don't get it read it to anyone that is familiar with the operation of the M1 rifle. A genuine vet would not have made that mistake. Not that Corso, is not a vet. He didn't write the book, he was just the shill for it. In the second to the last chapter I experienced an epiphany where the whole purpose for the writing of this book became clear. The military has been cursed by the Roswell incident since 1947. With the end of the Cold War, the member of the military industrial complex (not unlike the March of Dimes having to find a new disease after it wiped out polio) needed an enemy to keep its pay, profits, promotions, pensions and perks in place. Some genius figured it out and said, "Hey, let's write an expose of Roswell, admit that it was real, attribute all the scientific advances of the last 50 years to alien technology recovered from the crash scene and let everyone know that the EBEs are still there and a menace. The conspiracy people will buy it, the paranoids that trust the government to protect them will love it, the saucer people will buy it, along with everyone in between. Whereas Fox Molder of the X-Files states, "I want to believe", the watch word for the group responsible for this book is, "We want you to believe." Why was there no mention of the results of the war against the EBEs? Have sightings dropped off? Has there been a decrease in cattle mutilations? Why didn't the EBEs have destruct materials aboard their craft that would have prevented humans from making this alleged recovery? Why didn't the EBEs have beacons on board that could of alerted other ships to come to their aid? Why was there no tie in with all the evidence found in the debris field? Why was Marcel spotted at the scene of the crash several nights before he was at Brazel's ranch?
