Flanagan's Buffet Expedition

Just got back from a week in Vegas (our third trip, so we know the ins and outs of buffets out there, aided by Glenn's fantastic hard work, of course -- thanks Glenn!). Here's a list of where we ate (all lunch buffets except Rio), ranked best to worst:

1) Main Street Station
Ate there twice, it was great both times. Best roast beef I've ever had. Same variety of food both times, for the most part, but it was all good! And they don't serve their drinks in little tiny glasses, either, they give you the good jumbo ones. Watch for 2-for-1 coupons, they're all over the place, but you HAVE TO sign up for their slot club card to get the coupon validated BEFORE you get in the buffet line. This is a must-go!

2) Rio (not the seafood buffet, the regular)
Been there before, it's always a safe bet, though their prices got jacked up (it was either $10.49 or $10.99 for dinner). Great variety, be sure to ask for a seat in the middle, so you're centrally located, because you'll walk a LOT. Note to MSG-sensitive people: my wife had an MSG allergic reaction from stir fry station. Otherwise, she liked the food!

3) Fiesta
Small, cramped, out-of-the-way, rather dingy casino, but great food! Load up on that fried shrimp.

4) Luxor
Glenn rates this as so-so, we thought the food was very good, but then again, it was the first place we ate that week, so it could've just been buffet culture shock.

5) Aladdin
Sentimental favorite, we had to eat there one last time before it gets imploded. I don't know why everyone knocked this buffet, I always thought it was pretty good, especially considering the easy-to-find 2-for-1 coupons.

6) Boulder Station
We were really disappointed by Boulder Station, especially considering Glenn's high rating. The food was bland and, in the case of their Mexican selections, VERY visibly unappealing. Good hamburgers, but that's about it. I'm hoping it was an off day.

Sorry for the long post, just wanted to share. Anyone who wants to talk Vegas, feel free to email me at pfpd@pfpd.com. Thanks again for all the hard work, Glenn -- as a website designer, I'm impressed with what you've set up!
