For those of you who have read to this point, I just wanted to say I knew the Colonel as well, if not better, than most. I trusted him in the beginning but did not believe everything he said. When he asked me to turn Skywatch into an international organization, I accepted the challenge and became the first Executive Director of Skywatch International. When he disappeared for 10 days without a word, I began to investigate the man and talked to a lot of people who knew him better than anyone else on the internet, past or present. Based on what I was told by these sources, I began a psychological profile based on the Colonel's writings, claims and past behaviors. Though we may never know the full truth about the Colonel, I found that much of what he claimed was totally bogus. To this day I do not know if he operated out of some personal need for attention or ...some other agenda. I resigned as Executive Director of Skywatch because I did not want my name and reputation associated with the Colonel. I did not tell the real reason for my resignation to the public because I did not want anything negative to reflect on the organization. Skywatch International was and always will be something special in my heart despite the Colonel's involvement. Now that the Colonel is supposedly "gone", Skywatch International can grow and become an organization based on TRUTH and facts. It is a WONDERFUL organization with some of the best directors and investigators I've ever had the privilage of meeting! This is just a note to those who may still read claims the Colonel made about himself, alleged government secrets and/or technology and references made by others to the Colonel's claims. Because I KNOW the Colonel lied frequently, I cannot know if ANYTHING he said was based on fact. And if *I* don't know, NO ONE knows no matter what they may claim (the Colonel left behind a little group of "followers"). The ONLY thing the Colonel should be remembered for is starting Skywatch. In this he made a great contribution to the UFOlogy community. But all his claims and statements should be considered suspect. I'm not the only one who knows this. The Colonel's actions were posted by HIMSELF publicly for everyone to see if they just added them all up. He "disappeared" twice that I know of and posted explanations upon his return that were totally false (I investigated). Many times the Colonel staged his "disappearances" to see how the public would respond. Some of the posts posted during his alleged "disappearances" were actually his own words. Neither could he have seen half the things he claimed (including the UFO he claimed to see while "piloting" a plane) because he was on oxygen and disabled at the time (which he told me about himself on the phone). And as for his claims of having "unlimited resources" to fund Skywatch, he never fulfilled his promises that I know of. The only way Skywatch was supported was through it's fine directors and membership. The Colonel paid only for a PO box while I was Executive Director and little, if any, since to the best of my knowledge. My comments are not meant to reflect on Skywatch International, it's members or directors in any way. I helped launch Skywatch as an international organization and will CONTINUE to promote its growth and development. But, I believe people must be told the truth about the Colonel. It's time to stop believing his lies. He has grown into a "legend" based on myths HE created and promoted by those who don't care if they report truth and some who just don't know any better. Skywatch International now belongs to the public and rightfully so. The organization is based on a sound foundation and will search for truth and promote same. The only credit the Colonel is due is that of being Skywatch's founder, nothing more and nothing less. Nothing he said or claimed to know was backed by even a shread of evidence but there IS evidence (confidential sources and his own posts) that he lied frequently and deliberately. Those who continue to quote him and spread his lies need to stop adding to the amount of misinformation/disinformation growing deeper every day. I am finally coming forward with this information because by allowing these lies to propagate, I feel I may be in some way helping to promote them. I believe that if someone KNOWS something is wrong and does nothing to stop it, they are part of the problem. I know there are many people who still "worship" the Colonel and it's time they begin to re-evaluate their beliefs. Just as there is this little "group" that believed everything the Colonel said, there are many more who saw through him and KNOW many of his claims were false. I say this only to clear my own conscience. As I will probably stand alone to face the consequences, I do not wish to engage in any "battles" over who is right and who is wrong. I am speaking as a witness based on my encounters with the Colonel and with others who knew him. There may be those who will continue to promote claims made by the Colonel but only because it is important to THEIR agendas. Those who know me know that I do not say anything unless I have investigated and believe I am speaking the truth to the best of my knowledge. There is much more I know about the Colonel that I have never told anyone and will never share. I only wish to help people understand that anyone can say anything about secrets our government is keeping from the public and there is no way to prove they are telling the truth or telling lies. Almost all the claims the Colonel made fell withing that category and he KNEW there was no way to prove his claims were false or prove them accurate. But if someone has a tendency to fabricate lies and spread deliberate misinformation AND contradictes himself/herself in private and in public, then people need to be cautious about what they believe about what that individual says. I and others have WITNESSED the Colonel making many false statements and people need to be aware. Henceforth, let it be known that anyone making references to claims and/or statements made by the Colonel (Colonel Steve Wilson), past, present or future, may be knowingly or unwittingly spreading misinformation and/or disinformation. We must ALL exhibit personal responsibility and accountability in EVERYTHING we report publicly and privately. If the Colonel truely supported the search for truth, as he claimed, he knows (knew) that I am morally bound to expose lies and falsehood whenever and wherever they are found. I cannot keep silent any longer. I do this in memory of Dr. Karla Turner who sought to find truth and bring it into the light for ALL to see.
