In view of the recent change of leadership at CAUS (Citizens Against
UFO Secrecy) and the dissention surrounding it, I have split our CAUS
page on Ufomind into two pages. This seems appropriate since the two
administrations have distinctly different personalities and have
attracted a different crowd.
The original address was: http://www.ufomind.com/people/c/caus/
That page will remain in place and will refer to the organization
after Gersten's return to leadership. Its title is "CAUS - Gersten".
Topics, links and relationships will refer only to the current CAUS
and the new staff assembled by Gersten since January.
For the "old" CAUS, I have created a new page titled
"CAUS - Greenwood" at http://www.ufomind.com/people/c/causg/
This organization is listed as "Deceased (1998)." Topics,
links and relationships refers to the organization's activities
prior to Gersten's return.
The best explanation of what happened is given on the new CAUS's

During the past ten years CAUS has survived solely on the
heroic efforts of Barry Greenwood, former editor and
publisher of 'Just Cause;' Larry Fawcett, former deputy
director and co-author with Greenwood of 'The UFO Cover-UP'
(formerly 'Clear Intent); Robert Todd, one of the finest
FOIA researchers in the field; and Larry W. Bryant, a man
unequalled in his determination and enthusiasm for the
truth.
In January 1998, Peter A. Gersten, the attorney representing
CAUS in its prior lawsuits, resumed his position as
director, a position he held when CAUS was founded by him,
W.T. Zechel and Brad Sparks in the late 70s.
In spite of their heroism, the current list of directors on the new
CAUS's website does not include Greenwood, Fawcett, Todd or Bryant.

The old leadership felt that that if they did not accept Gersten's
legal right to the directorship, the situation would soon become CAUS
v. CAUS.
