Guide to the People Pages
In our
pages for individual people and organizations,
most of the fields should be self-explanatory.
The following information concerns that points
that may not be not obvious.
Our "people" database
contains records for both individuals
and organizations.
For our purposes, an
established organization is
considered a "person" with its own relationships,
interests, conflicts and links.
Individuals are filed by their last name,
while organizations are generally filed by their acronym,
which is treated as the last name.
The aim of this database
is to provide enough information for sorting
and cross-referencing but not to declare who is right or
wrong. Details about each person and
his claims should be given in linked documents,
where individual authors are free to make their own
evaluations.

General Fields
General information fields include...
Name - This most common
form of a person's true legal name.
Example "Bill Smith".
No titles are allowed (Dr., Colonel, etc.),
because these are often irrelevant or controversial.
Main Role -
This person's best known role in our fields of interest,
summarized in
neutal language a single line.
This is a description that both supporters and
opponents of this person should agree on.
Location -
This person's place of residence or work,
or the headquarters location
of the organization.
If this person is deceased, this is the place where they
last lived or
were most strongly associated with during their life.
|
Note:
We do not list full mailing addresses or email
addresses because of privacy
concerns.
If a person wants this information to be public,
you can probably find it on their own home page.
|
Filecode -
The unique one-word code for this person.
This code is the same as the last part of the URL of
this person's page.
This code is usually the same at the person's last
name, but all lowercase. (If there is more than one person
with the same last name, then initials are added.)
Class -
The major database this person is a part of.
(E.g. "ufo" for UFOs/Alien Life, "psi" for
Parapsychology, etc.)
Reported Aliases -
Other names this person is known under.
Career -
This person's profession or primary financial support.
Their former profession may also be included.
Relationships
The relationship
section links people
to one another and to organizations.
The contents of these fields should be considered "hints" only.
Errors are possible, but
we will do everything in our power to correct them when they
are brought to our attention.
Types of Relationships...
- Affiliation -
This field indicates that the two people have worked together
on a major project
or have otherwise been strongly associated with each other in the
present or past. It is also used to associate people with organizations
they belong to.
For inclusion in this field, there must be a
significant personal or professional
connection between two people. Examples:
- The two people wrote a book or article together, or
they cooperated in some other significant project.
- One "person" is an organization that the other is active in,
or has been active in in the past.
- The two people are associated in a prominent case.
- The two people have been married or romantically involved,
and this relationship is a matter of public record.
- Two people are relatives of each other.
As long as the relationship is "on the record", no
distinction is drawn here between past and present
affiliations. If two people once worked together
but are now estranged, they may be listed in both
the Affiliation and Criticism fields.
- Investigated/Interviewed -
Indicate that the person on this page has investigated
the claims of the other people listed or has interviewed
them for broadcast or publication.
Note: "Investigation" and "Interview" are considered a neutral terms.
They do not imply that the investigator has taken a stand on the
other person's claims.
If an investigator, after his investigation, has declared the
claims "true" or "false", he may also be listed in the
"Support" or "Criticism" fields, as well as "Investigation."
- Investigated/Interviewed -
Indicate that the person on this page has
been investigation by or been interviewed
by the other people listed.
- Critic Of -
Indicates that this person is an active critic of the other listed
people.
This
field indicates strong, longstanding opposition or criticism of one
person by the other.
The two people do not simply disagree on isolated issues,
but have developed an adversarial relationship in which there
is no cooperation at all. The relationship can be mutual
(in which case the other person's name appears in both "Critic of" and
"Criticized By" fields), or
it can be only one person strongly and
publically criticizing other.
The other person need not respond for the "Critic Of"
field to be assigned.
Examples:
- One person has publically called the other a "fraud" or some
other heated term.
- One person has announced that the other is part of a
government conspiracy.
- The two people have engaged in "flame wars" on the internet.
(Or at least one person has "flamed" the other.)
- The two people have otherwise maintained a longstanding
adversarial relationship.
- The two people once worked together but are now estranged
due to some intractable conflict.
(In this case, the relationship can be listed
in both the Affiliation and Conflict fields.)
The conflict can be in the present or the past.
However, if the two people have patched up their
differences and are again "working together",
the criticism fields can be removed.
- Criticized By -
Indicates that this person has been
an actively crticized of the other listed
people.
- Supports/Supported By -
As with the criticism fields, the support fields indicate
strong, partisan support for another person's claims or
position.
The supporter has gone on the record with his position.
