Dispatches from Richard Boylan
From: "Richard J. Boylan, Ph.D."Subject: ORTK supports UFO public actions Date: Sun, 25 Apr 1999 18:56:24 -0700 REPORT ON OPERATION RIGHT TO KNOW'S BOARD MEETING DECISIONS April 24, 1999 Present: Mary Kerfoot, Dan Pinchas, Ed Komarek, Don Ratsch, Rich Boylan, and Mike Jamieson. Absent: Leo Pagayoya Actions: (1) Endorsed goals of June 5-6 rally sponsored by Norio Hayakawa near Area 51 and encouraged members to attend and offer their input on credible UFO related issues connected possibly to Area 51 operations. As Dr. Boylan pointed out, past rallies have been peaceful and lawful (as this one is promoted) and well attended by media. Among the goals identified by Dr. Boylan: support for litigant's efforts in court action resulting from injuries reported from toxic chemical wastes at Area 51; calling for establishment of a public affairs office for Area 51; and a demand that Area 51 boundaries be more clearly defined. (2) Dan Pinchas has obtained a table for ORTK at the upcoming July Mufon conference in Arlington, Virginia. Dan wants to assemble ORTK members together for a meeting at the conference, so efforts will be made to communicate this to area ORTK members as well as others traveling there from elsewhere. (3) Remy Chevaliar's action in October on the Capitol Hill steps to collect anti-secrecy statements from protesters (to be collated into booklets for 100 members of Congress) was noted. Remy C's action is an "off-shoot" of a larger End Secrecy Now rally addressing secrecy in all areas of government. (4) ORTK voted unanimous support for the state ballot initiative effort initiated and promoted by Larry Bryant and Bob Bletchman, AND, decided to help in any way possible the promotion of this effort publicly as well as the actual efforts to gather signatures. ORTK congratulates the MUFON board for supporting this effort.
