I think that if you know where you are, you would reference from that point. Why would anyone think that a being who has come from light years away not know -where- he is? If it were myself, and I did not have a way of displaying a map, I would point to where I am from. Also, I don't think that a being from elsewhere would be able to rely on a native of Earth to automatically know from what perspective he or she is looking at the particular star map in question.

Betty Hill's Starmap is VR technology
One supportive view on the Hill starmap would be VR technology. The argument is: "Why would Aliens center the focus of the map on Earth and not on their own home planet." With VR Techology the perspective view is where you the viewer are located. You are the focus and the view of the world map is from your fixed point of origin. If the viewer doesnt want to get lost, then the map should show your real time location in space and the arrangement of stars would be then be in proper perspective with regards to your point of origin. Quote Betty Hill, "the map was like a window with depth." Try JTrack at the NASA site.

Betty Hill Star Map
A lot had been written about the "star map" that Betty Hill had seen while walking about the saucer she and her husband had been holed up on. I have much to say about that map but the only statement that needs to be made at the present moment is: why would entities from the Zeti Reticuli area need a star map based on the perspective of planet earth? I mean, wouldn't their perspective be totally different from ours? Whoever was trying to put this off apparently believes the earth is the center of the universe or at least the relative initiating point for the entire universe. If you agree then there is more to this subject than meets the eye.
