Well, first I heard this guy on Art Bell claiming to be a renowned
astrophysicist and that there is a companion traveling with the Hale-Bopp
comet that is hollow, is four times the size of the earth, is under
intelligent control and is emitting a series of mathematical messages. Then
I hear he's a machinist in Oregon or something and he's been discredited by
showing a bunch of obviously and badly faked photos at a UFO conference.
And now I see him on Geraldo Rivera claiming to be the heir to Marshall
Applewhite's legacy. As most of you know, Applewhite was the leader of the
39 folks who went to meet the Hale-Bopp companion. This all makes me wonder
two things. First, what kind of research does Geraldo's staff do before
having someone on as a guest? Second, how far must a person go before he is
legally committable? This man, I think, has gone at least far enough. If
anyone can hurt the UFO cause, this is the kind of guy that can do it.
