An Ode to Leadership

To evaluate Sheriff Dahl Bradfield, we must consider the qualities of leadership. A true leader...

  1. Takes decisive action on little problems before they turn into big ones.

  2. Keeps his office above politics.

  3. Accepts responsibility instead of passing it to others.

  4. Shows, by his example, the best qualities he expects from others.

  5. Earns respect for his integrity, not just his power.

  6. Is always straightforward and truthful, never deceptive.

  7. Never procrastinates on difficult decisions.

  8. Builds trusting relationships with the community and its leaders.

  9. Never lets ego intrude into his work.

  10. Defends the principals and ethics of his office.

  11. Protects the morale of his soldiers.

  12. Upholds the law above all.

Examining these points one by one, we can only conclude, that ain't Dahl! He got the job because he turned up in the right place at the right time, no leadership skills required.
