Hi, i'm Owen Calvert, and I'm 12½, I'm thinking of moving to Rachel, Nevada when I'm older, and it's not just a phase, if it is, it's been going for 7 years. My question is, is it easy, to move from the UK, to the US, especially to Rac- -hel? Thanx alot for your time! Owen 'Ufologist of Wingham' Calvert

Just wanted to tell you that you have a great, informative page. I love the history of Rachel. Your writing really enticed me to visit this desert town. I would even consider packing up and moving there. How much does property goe for in Rachel? How about a Mobile home? If you can't answer, I'll check out another Rachel source. Thanks & keep up the good work! Jim

You can get 5 acres in Rachel for about $5000-$6000, but that's just the start. You need to spend $3000-$5000 more on a well then about $1000 for power. Then the question is: What are you going to do once you're here?

I just want to compliment you and all that contributed to the making of the Web page describing the history and presence of Rachel, Nevada. It is excellent! I am an avid motorcycle rider, and love touring the Southwest on it! I have never really been into Nevada however, and had been casually planning a trip across it on the 50. After reading your web page I feel compelled to include the 375 and Rachel on my ride. Having been raised in the Mojave Desert East of Barstow here in California, I have a keen appreciation for what some call the "stark beauty" for the desert. There is just something about it that draws me back time and again. Anyway, I am wondering if you would be able to supply any tips about the time of year that would be most appropriate for such a motorcycle trip.

The high elevation makes summer the best time to come. Winters are brutal and summer temps never break 100 (cool by Mojave standards). --GC

I'm interested in moving to Rachel, Nevada. Are there any mobile homes for sale there? And if so, what would some land per acre cost there? Any info would be appreciated.

Cover Image Groom Lake Patch: Participants in aircraft development projects like the Stealth fighter or military operations like Desert Storm always have a cloth patch to commemorate the event. The maligned workers at Groom Lake are denied this opportunity because their operation is supposed to be secret. As a service to them, we at the Area 51 Research Center have designed our own high-quality, 8-color cloth patch, the first of its kind to commemorate Area 51 and its crew. [gc 7/95] - #p {light} $8.00 (A 3" version of the patch is also available: #psm {light} $5.00)
