Subject: Urgent! Yahoo! Search Index Censors Cydonia research!
To: list@cydonia.org
Since August 6, 1996 some new and startling information
has come to my attention. Apparently, Yahoo! has deliberately
changed the category of all of the websites contained within
the category,
Science: Astronomy:Planets: Mars:Cydonia Region
If anyone tries to access or search the category
Science:Astronomy:Planets:Mars
http://www.yahoo.com/Science/Astronomy/Planets/Mars/
for Cydonia Mensae etc...you will get the following message,
"This search has been restricted to the category Entertainment:
Paranormal Phenomena:UFO Information:Cydonia Region on Mars. For
more matches try an unrestricted search across all categories."
Without notice and without regard to the actual content
presented in any of the web sites in the Science category,
Yahoo! has changed the category of all the sites listed under
Science: Astronomy:Planets: Mars:Cydonia Region
to that of
Entertainment:Paranormal Phenomena:UFO Information:Cydonia Region on Mars.
http://www.yahoo.com/Entertainment/Paranormal_Phenomena/UFO_Information/Cydonia_Region_on_Mars/
The sites presented in this category also include the mirror
of Malin's MOC site at LANL!!
IMO, this is a clear case of censorship. But, there are
other factors to consider as well.
As I write this message to you, CNN reports that
the Clinton Administration has abandoned the manned
mission to Mars in favor of an unmanned robtic mission
instead, early in the next decade.
So far, there has been absolutely ZERO press coverage
of this announcement. In fact, I have yet to see
a news wire covering this story.
Here is a list of sites affected by Yahoo's silent change:
A. The Malin MOC camera page at LANL,
http://bang.lanl.gov/solarsys/facedisc.htm
[Observations of the "Face on Mars" and
similar features by the Mars Global
Surveyor Orbiter Camera, Michael C. Malin,
Principal Investigator, Mars Global Surveyor
Orbiter Camera]
B. The McDaniel Report Newsletter
http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/mcdrpt/
C. The Cydonia Zone Link and Research page
http://www.cydonia.org/zone.html
D. The Cydonia Files - Joe Schembrie
http://home.navisoft.com/cydonia/cydonia.htm
E. Cydonia -John Joseph Merceicia/Hoagland
http://www.ufonews.com/cydonia.htm
F. The Mars Face and The Tower of Babel
http://members.gnn.com/JCCunn/mars.htm
D. NASA Secrets
http://wpmc1.wpafb.af.mil/hideout/neo/neo8.htm
Pedro Rosa's site,
Mars - Battlefield Cydonia
http://www.ksu.ru/~prosa/cydonia/cydonia.html
has disappeared altogether from the Yahoo!
index.
As many of you know Yahoo! is pretty much run
out of Stanford, and Stanford's Mars program
is quite prestigious.
If any of you have any suggestions as to a
course of action that can be taken or can point
out anything that I've missed, please e-mail me
at this address:
censorship@cydonia.org
Thanks for your help in this matter. Once
again, feel free to e-mail me with your
comments.
