I think the specificity you refer to is the variable structure of
a given "experiencer's" brain.  The brain is an impossibly delicate
organ, and it could be that only a very, very small percentage of
the population has the brain structure needed to "register" electric
fields and hallucinate.  More research needs to be done on the
temporal lobe.

I apologize for not following this discussion from the beginning, but
I recommend Albery Budden's "UFOs: Psychic Close Encounters--The
Electromagnetic Indictment" for anyone interested in this.  He makes a
strange, powerful argument, although I suspect that the phenomenon
of "signal-linking" is not as widespread as he hypothesizes.
