I agree with your statements completely.

It was refreshing to hear Bob Brown actually making sense about
Shargel, but he apparently was forced to do so by Shargel's
totally ridiculous presentation.

I did not attend this year's conference because I was so
disgusted with the quality of presentations last year.  And
you are absolutely on target to ask why Brown, Stevens, Hesemann,
and the other board members have not applied the same standards
to blatant charletans like Bob Dean.  Dean's presentation last
year was only slightly below Shargel's on the scale of the
ridiculous.

The UFO community HAS been infiltrated with disinformation
suppliers.  Whether these people are part of an organized effort
or just crackpots who have found safe refuge is something which
needs to be studied.
