I do know that the Truman "read my lips" comment was something Reg Pressley
said.  He was apparently quoting Ray on this, because at that point the only
film Reg had seen was the murky "tent footage", and it is obvious that Reg never
saw Truman in that film.

Ray's explanation is that he was quoting Jack, who had told him that he would be
able to see Truman clearly enough to read his lips in some of the footage.  At
that time only a portion of the film had been made viewable, and everything Jack
had claimed was there, so Ray was enthusiastic that he would have everything
Jack claimed, including scenes with Truman and scenes of the crash recovery
which included a big crane.

As Ray later found out, less than half the film he got from Jack could be made
viewable.  It is my understanding that the roll of film with "Truman's" on the
label is one of the worst, and is completely stuck together.  It may be possible
at some point to unstick this film and recover images from it, but that is not
known at this time.  Besides, we don't know what the label may have said.  It
may have said something like "Truman's team at the crash site", in which case
Truman himself may not be present.  We just don't know.
