Rob,

My statement almost three years ago about the film being brittle
was based on its physical condition.  I have not tried to break
the samples I have, as I am preserving them in original condition
in the hope of eventually getting proper testing to confirm age.

Purdy's belief that the film could come from the 60s is totally
subjective, and based, in part, on his firm belief that the whole
thing is a hoax.

You are right that I have grown tired of endless debate over trivia
while the important issues are mostly ignored/avoided.
