To all:

Dr. Kaku, in describing the mass of experimental data in
particle physics research during the 1960s, preceded that story with:

"Looking back at all the blind alleys and false starts in particle physics
during that period, one is reminded of the story of the scientist and the
flea."

I know I must have missed the point of the story when I first read it
because, I stopped there and tried to find out, "How do fleas hear,
anyhow?"
