Subject: P-1947: Historical Pennsylvania UFO Encounters

Historical Pennsylvania Encounters with UFO's and the Unexplained.
From the files of Researcher Stan Gordon

Date: July 25, 1983
Time: 7:45 A.M. local
Location: Jeannette, PA, Westmoreland County

The witness who lives in a residential housing area, was lying
in bed, and was disturbed by her neighbor's dog barking
constantly, and by a strange loud swirling sound that appeared
to originate from above, and was hurting her ears. The sound was
loud enough to rattle her windows, and vibrated through her
body.

The witness jumped out of bed, as the sound appeared to pass
overhead, then changed to a beeping sound. The sound seemed to
move towards the South, so the witness removed the screen from
her window, and looked out in that direction. To her amazement,
wobbling above some trees about 450 feet distance, was a large
object about 1,000 feet above the ground.

The object was hovering, yet moving up and down in a wobbling
fashion "like a yo-yo." The witness described the circular
object as looking like "a huge silver metallic double decker
layer cake" in the sky. The surface of the object appeared to
have a green color to it at times. The witness estimated the
size of the object as about 200 feet in diameter. On the top of
the object was a dome structure which contained a row of four
prominent square windows. Under the window area, there was a
shape, which gave the impression of a door.

All around the perimeter of the object were what appeared to be
square windows that were evenly spaced. Along the exterior edge
of the object, were many green and blue flashing lights. The
witness watched the object for nearly 4 minutes, when a high
pitched sound was heard, and the object moved upwards into the
sky and in seconds was lost from sight.

The witness who prior to this experience was a UFO skeptic,
became upset after her observation, and had the feeling as
though her skin was crawling For the next two days she continued
to experience this feeling. On this same date but earlier in the
morning, another as of yet unexplained sighting occurred about
10 miles away near Latrobe.
