Here are some figures from UFOCAT to go along with Larry Hatch's
counts from *U* database. UFOCAT duplicates many sightings since
it lists different references without discrimination. I ran the
first figure simply asking for the YEAR. Then I manipulated the
answer to exclude all duplicate answers for the following
fields: YEAR, DATE, TIME and LOCATION. That produced the figure
below marked KEY VIOLATIONS. The derived UFOCAT NET figure below
is a better approximation of sightings contained in UFOCAT, but
unfortunately not an exact figure because different listed
references may have listed (and did sometimes) different
Year-Date-Time-Location information. Thus, UFOCAT can only be
used for an approximation - not exact figures.
