NEWS: SIZE DOES MATTER IN OUTBACK A Reuters report revealed that the approximately two-mile-long outline of an Aboriginal person carved outside of remote Marree in Australia was not, as originally speculated by some media, created by extraterrestrials. Instead, according to Senior Constable Paul Liersch's speculations of July 15, 1998, it was the work of locals who wanted to make a tourist attraction. Liersch spoke of driving out to the Finniss Springs artifact after an anonymous fax came by way of the Marree hotel, some 370 miles to Adelaide's north; he mentioned the depiction of the Aboriginal as being the biggest artwork in the world. Farm machinery was thought to have been used to carve it from barren state land. Oddly, a note referring to the Branch Davidian cult, and a U.S. flag were discovered at the site.--D.C.
