Subject: 17th Leeds International UFO Conference [UK]

The 17th Leeds International UFO Conference will be held at the
University of Leeds, Northern England, over the weekend of 11 -
13 September.

Staged in the University's splendid Conference Auditorium,
proceedings begin on Friday evening, 11 September, with our
annual presentation of 'Moving Images', depicting some of the
best UFO footage gleaned down the years, plus an advance
screening of segments pertaining to the new TV documentary based
on the Varginha Incident, to be broadcast later in the Autumn.

This is also an opportunity to meet some of our guest speakers
in an informal atmosphere over drinks and light refreshments.

Doors open Friday evening at 5.30pm - the screenings begin at
6.30pm and we end at 10.00pm.

Admission to 'Moving Images' is just =A35.00 at the door.

It's perhaps mentioning at this point that car parking is free
on all three days and the main car park itself is positioned
right alongside the Conference Auditorium, situated at the top
of Calverley Street, which runs past Leeds Town Hall and the
General Infirmary.

On Saturday, doors open at 9.30am and proceedings begin at
11.00am with a lecture by Nick Redfern, one of Britain's most
accomplished UFO researchers and author of 'Covert Agenda' and
'The FBI UFO Files'. Nick's attention to detail and facts,
supported by hitherto classified UFO documentation gleaned from
home and abroad, has been a revelation.

After lunch, we welcome leading American abduction researcher
Yvonne Smith, who will relate specific cases she has personally
handled and offer an insight into her counselling techniques and
methods. Yvonne's slide presentation is quite something, but she
will also be showing some unique video tape to augment her
lecture.

Following a short break, Britain's Russel Callaghan will
demonstrate how the modern computer has helped unravel several
puzzling mysteries concerning alleged UFO footage & photographs.

Russel will be showing some exclusive footage from Britain &
Australia, and highlighting possible links to objects contained
on the footage, albeit filmed continents apart. He will attempt
to do the same with footage taken recently in Brazil, to that
taken over Hawaii by USAF officials.

Our last speaker is Mexico's Jaime Maussan, who requires little
introduction. This will be Jaime's first major lecture
presentation in Britain, and as a consequence, will undertake to
show as much UFO footage as possible in what will be the first
of his two-part lectures.

Proceedings are set to end at 7.30pm.

Admission for the Saturday is just =A310.00. Concessionary rates
are available, priced at =A37.50, for youngsters under the age of
16; senior citizens; student card holders; the unemployed.

On Sunday, doors open at 9.30am and proceedings begin at 11.00am
with a lecture by Andy Rackham, a Senior British Air Traffic
Controller at Leeds & Bradford International Airport.

Andy played a key role in helping us to try determine the
origins and make-up of two large and extremely bright low-flying
objects which were seen to travel over Northern England on the
evening of 2 February this year. These objects were filmed in
the process and seen by thousands of eye- witnesses, but failed
to be detected on his airport's radar.

Andy will not only cover the events of that night, but explain
how radar and civil airports in particular, may not be the
automatic solution to such over flights as people imagine.
Interestingly, he will also reveal details about an alleged UFO
crash in the Indian Ocean while he was stationed there.

After lunch, Ananda Sirisena, who hails from Sri Lanka, will
present the latest news and images sent back from Mars Global
Surveyor. Although there has been heated debate ever since NASA
asserted that 'The Face' on Mars was in all likelihood of
natural and not extraterrestrial origin, with few exceptions a
balanced argument as to who may be right, and who may be wrong,
has been sadly lacking.

Ananda's scientific approach looks at both sides of the
equation, and the audience will be all the better informed at
the end of what is always a fascinating and articulate
presentation.

After a short interval, Graham W. Birdsall, editor of Britain's
UFO Magazine, will introduce a variety of topics that will form
a global overview of the UFO situation and related subjects. In
particular, he will focus on NASA's 'Origins' programme and the
threat from space of near-Earth objects.

Finally, the 17th Leeds International Conference comes to a
close with the second of Jaime Maussan's lectures. The very
latest UFO footage will be shown on our giant in-house screen
(complemented by state-of the-art audio/visual technology), and
afford an excellent view of images that have set Mexico alight
in recent months. Jaime will include the new footage taken of
huge formations of objects, often numbering 50 - 100, recorded
by no less than 15 independent eye-witnesses at distances apart.

Proceedings are set to end at 7.30pm.

Admission for the Sunday is just =A310.00. Concessionary rates are
available, priced at =A37.50, for youngsters under the age of 16;
senior citizens; student card holders; the unemployed.
