Subject: C-E: McDonald Hand Written Material

Greetings List,

Last year, Dr. Michael Swords lead a group of UFO historians,
Loren Gross, Jerry Clark and myself, on a one week research trip
to the University of Arizona to view Dr. James McDonald's
papers. (One of Dr. Swords' friends who has some interest in
UFOs also accompanied us and several weeks later Barry Greenwood
also went to visit the university's archives and follow up on
several areas we missed. )

Dr. McDonald had conducted a large number of interviews and
investigations which had never been transcribed from his hand
written notes. He also had copious notes that he took on various
research trips. There were a number of notebooks and UFO books
which were annotated with his hand written comments.

These notes are difficult to read as I can attest. Richard Hall
who carried on an extensive correspondence with McDonald. He is
able to read McDonald's difficult hand fairly well.

I suggested to Mark Rodeghier, the current head of the UFO
Research Coalition, that the Coalition fund a small effort to
transcribe and publish some of these notes. He responded that we
should to seek donations for such an undertaking.

None of on these lists are millionaires, however, maybe we can
come up with some donations. Also, maybe, some subscribers have
ideas where we could seek grants for such work.
