Passionate pens

A trio of South Bay authors tell their stories in new books

by Deborah Paul

One flew new aircraft right off the drawing board. Another
explored the universal pros and cons of UFO sightings and
encounters. The third sought to capture the wonder of a hug.

These three South Bay authors -- all famous men in their
respective fields -- have written books about the great passions
of their lives.

"COSMIC TEST TUBE: EXTRATERRESTRIAL CONTACT, THEORIES AND
EVIDENCE," BY RANDALL FITZGERALD

In "Cosmic Test Tube: Extraterrestrial Contact, Theories and
Evidence" (Moon Lake Media, $19.95), Randall Fitzgerald has put
his veritable research talents to work digging up 155 major
viewpoints, theories and other points he presents as evidence to
alien existence.

The Redondo Beach resident and Readers Digest contributing
editor prefaces each chapter with his own insights, carefully
probing the pros and cons on such topics as ancient astronauts,
UFOs and UFO occupants and contacting extraterrestrial
intelligence. He then condenses and paraphrases a broad range of
documentation from scientists, clandestine government UFO watch
groups, contactee and abuductee personal accounts and more.

"The most important part of the chronology, is that each of the
five sections portray the evolution of (earlier) theories and
ideas," Fitzgerald said. "The book demonstrates how evidence and
ideas were borrowed or stolen from previous authors," Fitzgerald
said.

Does the writer believe in UFOs?

"My intuition tells me that extraterrestrials may well have had
contact with humans of the ancient past, if not the present,"
the author said. "But my rational faculties demand that I
continually question all the
evidence."
