Any educated North >American who has not heard of McGill University ought to >apologize profusely for his boneheaded ignorance. >Incidentally, Don C. Donderi, psychologist, ufologist, >and all-around good guy, has long been on the >McGill faculty. >Jerry Jerry: Cut poor Bob Shell some slack--the guy lives in California, fer gawd's sakes, which is about as far as one can get from McGill and still be in the good ol' U.S. That said, I'm constantly surprised at how this synchronicity stuff works. Today, for example, I was rearranging books on my shelves and came across a spine labeled "Bull's Eye" by James Adams. I couldn't for the life of me remember what it was about, so I pulled it down for a quick looksee. Turned out to be a bio of Gerald Bull, who was unceremoniously assassinated by the Mossad for selling Saddam Hussein one of his superguns. It had a picture section, which I turned to and thumbed through. The caption of the first one that caught my attention reads as follows: "The sponsor and the scientist: Dean Donald Mordell (left) of McGill University was an early believer and helped get the HARP [High Altitude Research Project] off the ground. Here, in March, 1962, at one of the first of many press conferences, the two men explain how the Martlet rocket could be fired from the HARP gun." The HARP here is not to be confused with the Alaskan HAARP (except by extremely dedicated conspiracy theorists). Still, coupled with Dr. Cameron's presence and activities at McGill, this leads me to wonder if the latter might not have been some sort of fertile "off-shore" proving ground for the CIA. Just a thought, in case anyone needs a booklength research project. Now that North American Bob has been thoroughly castigated and briefed as to McGill's illustrious history and status, I'm thinking of next trying to teach Jerry how to clip the unnecessary portions of his e-mail replies. (Hey, Canadians do it all the time!) This could take some time, though, so please bear with me. Meanwhile, I'm curious. Who the hell was this Mr. McGill, anyway? An 18th century CIA operative or merely a disaffected Scot? And why did they name name an entire university after him, instead of, say, a mere library, study hall or student center? I bet he didn't speak French, either. Curiouser and curiouser... SA Sasquatch BTW: While we're talking conspiracies here, specifically as to how Dilettoso's name is spelled and what it means in Italian, it's worth noting that in the made-for-TV movie about Bull, he was played--and I thought rather well--by Frank Langella. And that's no bull.
