Damned if I could understand most of that post. My main point, though, is this. Let it first be known I entirely agree that plagiarism is strongly indicated here. Let it second be pondered that perhaps, also, on the other hand, the minds of some of us groundlings imagine the unexperienced along similar lines. I recently drew attention to a parallel between claims of "government interference" in the processing of film by good ol' George Adamski and younger, badder Willi Meier. Is something similar happening here? What does a True Believer, with caricature notion of Wicked Scientist Suffering From Terminal Tunnel Vision firmly riveted into place, think said narrow-minded buffoon will do when confronted with Incontrovertible Evidence Of The Unknown? I'd like to run a focus group or two on it to test the prediction that they think yer man will gibber and weep, not unlike Victor Mature at the foot of the cross in "The Robe", as his precious worldview collapses into painful splinters. Now I do wish someone would fund this kind of research, because it would tell us a great deal about how conspiracy theorists' minds work, and also - if it were properly designed - about the extent to which less fixated people come up with strikingly similar narratives when dealing with unfamiliar experiences. And that in turn would help to sort all kinds of sheep from all kinds of goats in this mushy field. I'm sure you get my drift. Should I apply for a grant to FUFOR? best wishes Plectrum D.
