You are right, Tim...Mach 50 is complete nonsense.  The
Thunderdart is allegedly the second part of the "Aroura Project."

Supposedly, there is the Mother Ship, which can fly at speeds up
to Mach 3 at very high altitudes.  The Dart, is carried on the
back of the  Mother ship, who's rear deck is delta shaped, and
allows the Dart to take off directly from it's back.  I have
heard the Dart can also land on the Mother Ship as well. The Dart
is allegedly capable of speeds which range from Mach 5 to Mach
10.  That is a long way from Mach 50...

The Mother ship is also alleged to carry rockets into the higher
atmosphere where they may launch into earth orbit, without the
need of the large booster stages.
