Brother Blue & The Colonel

As far back as 1991, the eminent and marvelously insightful
scholar Dr. Jacques Vallee noted in his poignant work
_Revelations_ the following riddle:

 "I had given my private address to Lazar's associates.  Within
  days I started receiving strange letters from a colonel in Las
  Vegas who invited me to spend one month -- all expenses paid --
  with a group of ::: 12 People ::: who were preparing a major
  belief change in America.  My background, he wrote, would be a
  'definite advantage.'  The incentive for joining the group was
  to establish contact with aliens.  When I ignored the first
  letter -- it included the logo of the group, a neo-nazi design
  with an eagle clutching the SS symbol and a bunch of thunder-
  bolts -- the colonel sent me a second letter, even more specific.
  'If you are sincere about contact with them, we can discuss it
  but only if there is no government involvement.'

 "To show it meant business, my correspondent included detailed
  information: longitude and latitude of a certain UFO sighting
  dated May 1943.  I had the feeling that the problem was
  entering a new and dangerous phase..."

We go now to meet with this elusive colonel, dear Brethren of the
Internette; holding in our innermost being no guarantee that we
should return alive or with our already failing sanity still
intact.  Should we fail to return, through either complex
cerebral manipulations or foul play of the most heinous type, the
secretary will, of course, disavow all knowledge of our actions.

Should we, however, emerge unscathed from our journey through
this Abyss, we shall share freely all our findings for, as our
beloved Frater R:.A:.W:. hath so eloquently stated, "the only
truly courageous act left is to tell the truth about everything."
Let us, therefore, meditate upon these things.
