Dear Laura: I should correct my first post (above) 1) The actual time was about 2100 hrs ( 9:00 PM ) Tuesday nite. So, the Daly City event up north preceded the Orange County sonic booms, if thats what they were. 2) I narrowed the site down to about 122:35W - 37:43N, i.e. further North toward San Francisco. 3) This is almost exactly where the San Andreas Fault runs out to sea to the north-northwest. 4) At almost the same spot just offshore, there was a similar sighting on 15NOV57. A white glowing object hovered. A policeman and others watched for 10 minutes while it shifted to and fro. Whether there is any connection to military exercises is a good question in this case .. but the 1957 case sounds more like one of those "Earthlights" type events, which are occasionally reported. In any case, I strongly doubt it is a valid UFO event. (I have plenty of those listed in my database.) Maybe we should be looking into earthquake insurance Best wishes - Larry Hatch
