Frankly, I find this the opposite of disappointing. Look at what
happened.
Witnesses reported to authorities an unusual occurrence. Without
knowing the cause, they reported it accurately enough to confirm
the solution.

This is the sort of thing we rely on with regard to UFO cases,
and it is confirmed again and again: Except for the moderate
percentage of hoaxes, honest observers give us enough information
to typically identify 70-95% of reported sightings as
identifiable occurrences.

When we have the same class of observers giving us reports we
cannot identify, even though some small percentage are probably
hoaxes or identifiables where there is just not enough
information (from the witness or in the world) to ID the sighting
cause, we must pay attention to the the unidentifieds as indeed
something to be taken seriously.

Imagine a debunker's opinion on the above event. When it is an
unknown skyquake, they will deride the witness' competence. When
it becomes an identified event, they will say "See, nothing odd,"
but will ignore the indications that the witnesses were indeed
competent.

Sad, really.
