Stig ******* Subject: NEW INFO REGARDING SO CAL SKYQUAKE REPORT From: ryfyrman91@aol.com (RYFYRMAN91) Date: 1998/05/08 Message-ID: <1998050817285300.NAA15069@ladder01.news.aol.com> Newsgroups: alt.ufo.reports Hello everyone.... First of all, to Michael Lindemann and others that have in a surprisingly hostile manner called me out on the carpet about the SKYQUAKE report I posted, I appreciate you checking. I certainly do NOT want to be thought of as a hoaxer or overreacter or whatever, because the FACT remains that 3 nights ago at 2200hrs, the 911 system went berserk and I was the one answering the phones in the Emergency Communications Center where I work. So, that much is absolute fact....SOMETHING happened. Now, here's where I apologize to the world of UFOdom....The next day I went into work, I brought up the incident with a fellow dispatcher who was NOT working with me the previous night, and I asked him if he heard the skyquake. He laughed at me (because he knows of my interest in UFOs and stuff) and said that the shuttle had flown over and that he had read about it in the paper. So, for me, point settled!! BIG MISTAKE!! So, I come home, post my findings, and that's that. Many of you were gracious to me and said see, at least 911 works. Others said that debunkers would use this and say "See, it was nothing" to add fuel to their fires. But I got other emails, too..... And, all I can say is thank God for Michael Lindemann and the others that checked out my story. There WAS NO shuttle flying over Orange County, CA that night at that time. I did NOT confirm the truthfulness of what my co-worker told me. So, I was WRONG!! And I really, really apologize for that because I don't want people thinking that I am rattling the sabres for nothing...... and now, for the TWIST on the story. Two nights ago, at about 11pm, a reporter from the Orange County Register who I am on first name basis with, called in for her usual "beat check" just to see if we were working on anything. I told her no, but did she hear the sonic booms from the previous evening. She said no, she didn't hear anything, but she was aware of it being a reporter. And I told her it was just the shuttle landing (I know I said Vandenburg, but I meant Edwards by the way....I know, I SUCK!!). Anyway, she vehemently denied that and said she had traced the noise to 3 F-16 jets that came into El Toro at that time and they were flying too fast. FOLKS, I am not qualified to check that out. I will stand by my initial report however, that we were swamped with 911 calls at the time I listed in my previous post. I called BOTH El Toro Marine Base in Lake Forest as well as Camp Pendleton in Oceanside right AFTER the 15 minutes of phone HELL and BOTH denied flights of any kind. IT WAS TOO LATE FOR FLIGHTS in my experience, but again, I am not qualified. So, have at it you guys. Now "they" are saying 3 F-16 fighters in the sky at 2200hrs......so I was just curious, if they were F-16's flying that late in Orange County, how the HELL did people in Pomona (25 miles north) or Norco/Riverside (20 miles northeast) hear it?????? I plan on answering everyone's email to me personally, but it will be just a little time before I can. Thank you one and all for listening....and again, how can I prove over a post that I am very sincere about this and that I really apologize for this initial misleading info? Well, I guess you'll have to trust me, because here I am again trying to set the record straight. THAT should be a good indication... Ryan H.
