I've been away a couple of days and I'm just catching up.

At this point in this thread I started to laugh. Just like the
rest of you I followed this trail email stone after stone. That
was a chore after the exhaustive Ed Stewart vs. Jerry Clark
episode trail. However partisan I may be, I placed my bets on
Jerry Clark (as I did with the democratic party) and I cleaned
up on all bets. Even though it was a long journey, the Paul Dore
Affair renewed my will to the point that it now has me laughing
over the whole thing.

A rather deluded chap posted his his pronouncement that he made
auditory contact "out there", not directly a la contactees but
through a radio signal received by his very own dish. What great
hoax art. The plotter creates his own X Files on UpDates and
instantly gets a rabid audience racing down the internet trail.
His art was not in posting his mania. The true art was displayed
by the postings attached to the thread he created. For example,
the previous posting outlining the silencing of SETI by
cigarette smoking men was another X Files episode imagined.
Someone has been watching too many X Files to concoct this level
of performance paranoia. Great art, it makes me roll with
laughter. Sort of reminds me of the movie "Red Planet Mars",
where a ham radio operator picked up a signal from Martians bent
on destroying Earth. He sat up all night trying to think up the
equation to stop them. In the morning his wife was standing
outside his door offering him a piece of pie for breakfast. He
proclaimed "Pie, that's it! Pi is just what I was looking for to
complete my equation". Thus Earth was saved! I haven't seen it
in many years but the memory always gets me laughing.

After several decades I still have a great passion for serious
UFO research and I can only laugh over the demented hoaxsters
and hustlers who are a plague upon Ufology. Those who take them
seriously get quite a learning lesson out on those limbs. What
an art, the nurturing of the naive in Ufology. The P.T. Barnum
school of research.

When will this Nazi Saucer business ever end? It is pretty clear
by now that the Germans never had the operational saucers, etc.
That knowledge did not come until Bob Lazar discovered all the
answers  while employed in the hottest chamber within the great
mother hive, Area S4 at "the ranch". Perhaps Lazar reigns as the
Da Vinci of hoax art. He must have had the gals at the brothel
near orgasm as he described the inner workings of the sport
model. Talk of Element 115 perhaps brought them over the edge.
You have to ask Gene Huff, a great hoaxmate. For the truth of
the Dore affair I second the idea of asking Richard Hoagland.
Perhaps he reigns as the Picasso of hoaxmasters. He must be the
one person who can describe how the cigarette smoking men
silenced SETI and forced them to ridicule Dore. Of course that
would be after he tells you how NASA hid the 'Face', how they
have hired more airbrushers to hit those photos as soon as they
get to Earth from Mars.

I can easily understand how Germans are offended by the
approaches of some bogus researchers. My partner is a German.
She and I discussed this point again today. She was born after
the war, sings about love, yet still gets discriminated against
because she is German. Even though she is a major pop star in
Germany and several other European countries, we have met some
people, fortunately a small minority, who have closed doors just
because she is German and that she can not be forgiven for the
horrors of the Nazis. I don't want to downplay those horrors,
but the German people have examined and atoned very heavily
about that dark period. If you go to Germany you can see how
society and the educational system are designed to prevent
anything of that sort from happening again. So why blame the
people for the sins of their fathers? It's like a Native
American blaming me for what the calvary and ignorant people did
to his ancestors. I grew up Jewish in Anmerica and had a great
deal of open discrimination from a small minority of kids. Miko
and I discussed that many people don't realize, or forget, that
Germany has also had many great centuries   where they have
provided a wealth of knowledge, culture, and goodness to the
world. Any further speculation about Nazi saucers that does not
contain real evidence only prolongs the problem.

Thankfully, when I returned to LA after two years, that pesky
fly of a Nazi Saucer hoaxster, the extremely wacky Vladimir
Terzitsky, was gone and not making a psycho spectacle of himself
at LA Mufon meetings. I hope he did not fly into your woods.
Perhaps he is now writing Nazi saucers articles under a pen
name. Perhaps he froze to death in Antartica while searching for
them.

Don Ecker, if you're out there ol'buddy, thanks for a couple of
months ago posting an update about the one person whose name I
had hoped to never hear or think about ever again. The worst of
the ranters and ravers to ever besmirch ufology. I will never
type his name but his initials are W.C. Your update referred to
how he had become a militia member (I wasn't at all surprised)
and was staging a showdown with authorities over non-payment of
taxes or some other militia folly. They were going to have to
kill him to capture him. What was the disposition? Is he dead or
alive? If you listmates haven't guessed yet, he was a buddy of
good ol' John (what a case) Lear until he turned things ugly and
they had a battle of the paranoia titans. If W.C. has succeeded
in fighting off the U.S. will he join Bo Gritz to finally defeat
the assorted aliens in our midst? Will the militia make their
own "Independence Day" chanting "kill the abductors"?
