To the best of my knowledge it is illegal for people in Oz to
own meteorite debris and therefore they (we) have no legal right
to sell them.

An act of parliament has laid claim to all such objects for the
purposes of the scientific research and , therefore, for the
whole community and not just those fortunate enough to find them
and wanting to make a quick buck.

These are the "local Considerations".
