Subject: Leonids Shower A Sprinkle - Some UFO Reports

Hi Everyone

The  leonids Meteor Shower was a sprinkle wasn't it hum,

But I think the best meteor was at 1.15am it came in low  from
the east and then went west and left a trail across the sky from
east to west which stayed for around 40 seconds it was at cloud
level what a sight WOW Glennys Mackay can confirm this.

We saw around 30 meteors per hour coming from all direction
Skywatch Location the Jimboomba Turf Farm great views of the
night sky no light pollution.

Okay guys there has been some flack about seeing UFO's when the
Meteor
shower was on so we had to be careful about Reports.

But - Our local Radio Station 'B105' had a few calls about a UFO
being sighted, Jamie Dun made a few comments about it Ha! a
sendup of course :>) but never the less a caller called it in.

Now for the Sighting Reports

Report 1. George Mackay  glenmack@thehub.com.au
Location: Jimboomba: Time 3.20am 18th.11.98

Swears he saw a UFO going from left to right then go straight
up, well I think he might be right  Time was around 3.20am.

Report 2: Peter Astronomer Location: Stafford Time 3.20am
18th.11.98

Astronomer Peter said he saw a bright light going from left to
right, then go straight up time 3.20am - the same time as
George Mackay. Now did anyone els see anything?? .

Position was to the North West corner of Orion's Belt

Location: Far North QLD: Time around 4.00am 18th.11.98

Well,some interesting bits.

Saw an aircraft to the N after about 4 am. Soon after sudden
bright flash to the N, then it flashed three or more times less
brightly, and a minute or so later below horizon a flareup.

Not the plane, which I saw way off to the S soon after. Not a
meteor, Did a satellite get hit? Or knocked spinning?

Hello everybody

I have a friend who went to see the meteor shower at Mt Nebo
and he believes he saw a UFO  at around 3.20 am noth west as
well, it did a zig zag and shot straight up,  he believes he had
an experience when he was 3yrs old  and the ufo looked similar
as the one he saw on 17. 11. 98.  His girlfriend and a friend
saw it too.
