Maybe in England? I doubt it. You might find the occasional circle in oilseed rape (or Canola) at that time of year (in England), but the majority appear much later with cereal crops. So where is this evidence? The earliest record of anything like a crop circle is a pamphlet dated 1678, describing a feud between a farmer and workers which resulted in his crop being cut. It was more likely a case of theft than any vortex-like energy and hardly 'considerable evidence' of an historical precedent. Rob
