Time: 11.15pm to 11.55pm

"I remember looking at the time as I slipped into bed - it was
11.15pm onThursday 4th March 1999. I faced the open window
(security screen installed). It was a very, very clear evening -
the first fine night following the heavy rains which Brisbane
and south-east Queensland had experienced. I noticed an object
in the north-eastern sky with blinking/flashing red, green and
orange lights. Immediately I thought an aircraft was coming into
Brisbane airport. I had observed this object through a
particular diamond-shape section of the security screen. But I
noticed that it never got any closer or moved out of my vision
of it through that 'diamond'.

I immediately got out of bed and went to the window to further
observe. This object definitely flashed red, green and orange.
It looked like a over bright star, but also seemed a little
large to be a star. Whilst it didn't move any great distance in
the sky, it seemed to be hovering in its own very tiny orbit.

I was so intrigued by this sighting that I watched from the
window for some time, then I went to the 2nd bedroom window,
(also facing north-east) and I observed the same object, still
doing the same thing. I moved to other windows of the house to
observe stars in the sky, trying to reinforce my thoughts that
this object in the north-east was 'more than a star' perhaps.

At about 11.40pm-ish, I felt I had to report what I observed, so
obtained the UFO Hotline number through Telstra information
(1800........number). I continued to watch the object, but
didn't observe anything different from first noticing it.

At times, I thought I could hear an engine noise - like a
helicopter or the like - but can't be definite as to whether the
noise was emanating from the object or whether it was another
engine noise from some other source. I climbed back into bed at
11.55. The object was still visible through the 'diamond' of my
security screen. Then I fell asleep."
