You and others may >sputter and wheeze about Stephens, but his list of questions to >Hoagland is an excellent start. Exactly when do you suppose >Hoagland will ever address the issues raised by the questions? >For a good laugh visit - http://skepticult.org/artpar/ Well, Don, as I mentioned in my own mea culpa to the list, they got me good! I'll bet the webmaster at beograd.com might have been pretty pleased to get the message out with the aid of an American broadcaster. That's a switch from all the CNN rah-rah. (I feel the US Networks are exploiting those captured/abducted soldiers every bit as much as Slobodan & Co. are doing). What sets the Hoagland/Bell et al Vs "RAMS" thing in Richard and Art's favor, IMO, is the steady and stable presentation of the scientific "possibilities" of what Art presents (well, at least most of it...you gotta laugh at a proportionate amount of B***Sh** on not only his show but Rense's as well...puhleese) and what Richard states and goes the extra mile to show via his website and public lectures. "R.A.M." on the other hand has been shown to be extremely erratic in his behavior...from meek, mild mannered "I just want to play out the truth" to megalomaniacal threats and fury..which have never come to fruition. As a broadcaster myself, I don't believe any item put forth on the air as entertainment or "you make up your own mind, you're an adult" has to be necessarily 1) verified 2) villified if proven to be false or a hoax 3) apologized for, if outrageous or beyond the pale in believability. I'd vouch for the passionate, idiosyncratic, sometimes questionable veracity of a Richard Hoagland than a bogus, threatening R.A.M. Stephens any day of the week. That Stephens poses a list of questions makes him no more credible or worthy of defending than anyone else. He's a johnny-come-lately riding on the coat-tails of Art's success and preying on the easy gullibility of Jeff Rense. Bottom line? While all of us in the UFO community want to believe, some of us are skeptical while some fall for every doctored picture or faked video that comes along. Why? Because we want (no, _need_) to believe that there is an explanation for all of the strangeness in our universe! We want answers for those multitudinous questions that have plagued us from the beginning! The reasons for the existence of ufology and paranormal pursuits are the same as the reasons there is religion. Make sense of it all. Put order into those things we see, but don't see...feel but don't know for sure. I love the mystery...the intrigue...this is more fun than religion. Have a Good Friday! jm
