Stephens <sti3818@montana.com> >To: UFO Updates Toronto <updates@globalserve.net> >Subject: Behold - Again All, I was reading the letter Mr. Stephens sent to the FBI and saw some humorous content I thought I'd share. The passage I found interesting was: "Mr. Tubbs, I implore you to bring to bear your resources to put a stop to this. The alternative is for the victims such as myself to take matters into our own hands and 'win-nuke' these servers off the internet forever. I can do this. I have the software and the skills under Unix to do this in a matter of minutes." This is located at: http://www.stephens-behold.com/letter%20to%20fbi.html First off, a "WinNuke" will not take a server off the Internet forever. It merely freezes the server. Unless Art is running a server without a reset button, he's in no real trouble. Next, a WIN-Nuke implies the use of windows. No Unix knowledge is needed to perform a Denial of Service attack. There are even web pages that will do it for you! It takes no skill whatsoever. Finally, a winnuke or denial of service attack is illegal. I find it very humorous that Mr. Stephens would include this in the letter because it means he has no clue what he's doing. I don't like Art Bell either, but it would be nice to see Mr. Stephens stop pretending like he's a superhacker of some kind. I guess we'll just have to keep praying for an end to the insanity. Regards, Scott Hale If you have a chance, do visit the page for the cool space shuttle painting though. It's very well done.
