What you describe is work that needs to be done. Stuart Appelle
said much the same thing in his paper on abduction evidence in
JUFOS. [Journal UFO Studies --ebk]  If, for instance, abductees
report seeing similar symbols during their abductions, a control
group of non-abductees should be asked to imagine symbols they
imagine they'd see if they should be abducted.

If they come up with the same symbols the abductees report, then
the abductees' reports aren't convincing.
