Just a technical point here: there IS a way to "translate sound into light", but it plays no role in this discussion. The phenomenon of "sonoluminescence" does appear to be the direct conversion of acoustic energy or power into light by focusing of sound waves into a fluid under particular circumstances. The phenomenon is not yet understood. There is no color-frequency relationship, however (at least not that I'm aware of).,
