Dear Mr. Korff,

I have been following your crusade from a distance for about 20
years and am finally moved by sheer outrage to complain.

I have known Jim Dilettoso since the mid-'70s variously as a
friend, colleague and business partner... in brief far better
than you.

I have intimate knowledge of many of his projects and can state
with certainty that his so- called "modus operandi", subject of
your life-long harangue bears little resemblence to your
accusations.

You have now slung so much mud, it is difficult to even comment
intelligently. Choosing only one example... persuading someone
to give a grant or otherwise fund an interesting project (which
is done a thousand times a day for ideas much more zany that Jim
ever pursued) does not constitute fraud. I'm quite sure that
you yourself have at times asked for funding on little more than
what you thought was a good idea... so it seems we have the pot
calling the kettle black.

What I do take extreme issue with, Karl, is YOUR modus operandi,
which is, and has always been, vicious and very personal
character assassination.

I read your last book on the Meier case with great dismay... and
disgust. Though I tend to agree with a number of the aspects
you call into question, the HUNDRED PAGES devoted to destroying
the personal character of decent people like Marcel Vogel,
Wendell Stevens, Lee & Brit Elders, Tom Welch, not to mention of
course, Jim Dilettoso, was right over the top and in such bad
taste professionally, that it in fact seriously degraded the
credibity of an otherwise thought-provoking report.

There is a striking similarity between your crusade against Jim
Dilettoso and that of Kenneth Starr against Bill Clinton. "But
what about peace in Northern Ireland? You lied about sex, Mr
President". "But what about the great economic boom? You lied
about sex Mr. President"...... ad nauseum. "But what about all
my years of good work on colorizing black & white movies? Sorry
Jim you didn't give your correct academic credentials in 1979".
Give us break Kal... the public is REALLY tired of you and your
crusade. First, it's not a perfect world, and second, nobody
cares about this any more. Go get a life!

You might try Kenneth Starr's office. I hear they're looking for
a few good people.
