He signed on the >very first TV station in this area and was there nearly 40 >years. Before that he was in Radio. He had the courage to cover >the UFO flaps in Wytheville, Virginia, just down the road from >here and went from skeptic to believer from interviewing >ordinary people who had very extra-ordinary experiences. >He was the newsman who dug up and broke the Frances Gary Powers >story when the Soviets shot him down in a U2 spy plane, and he >covered many other sensitive stories over the years. >I asked him about this story of yours and he said "Bull***t!" Bob, regarding your father: Did you ask him if he ever worked in Houston? No. Did he, in fact, work in Houston? No. Did he work for the same station as my father? No. Did he work on the same remote crew? No. Did you ask him if he knew my father? No. Did he know my father? No. Did you ask him if he was aware of what happened to my father? No. Do you even know my father's name? No. In fact, there's _nothing_ you could possibly ask your father that would confirm or deny what happened to my father, and you know that. You simply inquired about your father's _own_ experiences, which is fine. But just because something like this did not happen to your father does not mean it did not happen to mine, Bob, or that it can't happen to anyone else. If such a discrepency were an indicator of truth then I could simply maintain that _your_ father's story is bullshit. Or I could take the position that he was warned not to reveal that such things happened to him. Or I could claim that you are just making things up to take a counter point with my own position. But why should I? I find it reasonable that nothing happened to your father, and I'm happy for him and can accept that. On the other hand, you are calling my father a liar, which I do not take lightly. Or, possibly, you are calling me a liar. Neither is very flattering and quite uncalled for. In fact, the few short months I've been involved with this List, I've noticed your obvious disdain for anyone that might offer information that relates to media such as photography, film or video. When referring to Neil Morris' work on the RPIT, you said you were waiting on CD ROMS of the material so you could put it in the hands of a "real" photo analyst. What a cheap shot. Odd, considering your earlier position that commercial scans would be useless, anyway. It would appear the only real use of the CD ROM to you was an opportunity in discussion to diss Neil Morris about his efforts and the efforts of the RPIT. Your comments in response to my own postings about AA were full of contradictions about how many rolls were pushed, about your access to the cameraman, about how the film was processed, about which lenses were used, etc, etc. Yet you maintain the attitude that only YOU are to be the one to say whether the AA footage is real or not. Woe to anyone that might have a technical opinion, otherwise, no matter how logical. If you don't agree with my posts, that's okay. I don't always agree with yours. But then, I'm not required to, despite what you may think. More to the point, the world does not have to agree with Bob Shell or bow to his approval. If you have specific evidence that proves my father is not telling the truth about what happend to him and his remote crew, then lets see it. If all you have is your own father's word that nothing like that ever happened to _him_, then leave it at that. Do _not_ try to score hits on me by casting doubts on the integrity of my father. I won't stand for it. Roger Evans
