But just because something like this did not happen to >your father does not mean it did not happen to mine, Bob, or >that it can't happen to anyone else. Fair enough. He said nothing like this ever happened to him, anyone he knew, or anyone he ever heard of, and he doubted that it ever happened to anyone. He was hassled by govt types over the Powers story, but he believed that the public had a right to know, so he ran it anyway. No one attempted to confiscate his photos or tapes (audio in those days) and film. Did your father run the stories anyway? >In fact, the few short months I've been involved with this List, >I've noticed your obvious disdain for anyone that might offer >information that relates to media such as photography, film or >video. When referring to Neil Morris' work on the RPIT, you said >you were waiting on CD ROMS of the material so you could put it >in the hands of a "real" photo analyst. What a cheap shot. Neil Morris is not a professional photo analyst. I'm sure he will agree with that statement. I am not putting him down when I say he has neither the knowledge nor equipment to do this job properly. Neil and I have been in touch, and he shows no signs of being offended by my comments or approach. >Odd, considering your earlier position that commercial scans >would be useless, anyway. It would appear the only real use of >the CD ROM to you was an opportunity in discussion to diss Neil >Morris about his efforts and the efforts of the RPIT. I have forwarded the CD Stan sent me to a professional photo analyst for a looksee. He doubted he could do anything with someone else's scans, but agreed to take a look when he has time. If he gets interested enough, he may try to arrange to scan the negatives himself. >Your comments in response to my own postings about AA were full >of contradictions about how many rolls were pushed, about your >access to the cameraman, about how the film was processed, about >which lenses were used, etc, etc. Yet you maintain the attitude >that only YOU are to be the one to say whether the AA footage is >real or not. Woe to anyone that might have a technical opinion, >otherwise, no matter how logical. Please approach on bended knee and address me properly as Sire when you say stuff like that!! Technical opinions are only valid when backed by technical _knowledge_ to support them. >If you don't agree with my posts, that's okay. I don't always >agree with yours. But then, I'm not required to, despite what >you may think. More to the point, the world does not have to >agree with Bob Shell or bow to his approval. OK, guess I'll have to learn to live with that.
