Hello all,

Feeling a bit creative tonite. Enjoy...

I came to this list by way of a friend
in the hope that, per chance, a fresh view I might lend
to the views, high and low, of those that are able
to accept new ideas and blow off age old fables.

But, alas I do find that what’s old is what’s new
as the truth, far to often, is looked at askew.
Who am I, some might ask, to suggest that these things
should be thought of as fact when the fat lady sings?

No one, to be sure, am I that’s for certain.
Just pay little notice to the man ‘hind the curtain,
for he pulls all the levers and he makes all the rules
he’ll swear up is down and disagree, you’re a fool.

First there was Ed, then RAM Stevens and Gary
to ‘splain to us all that our ideas were not cherry.
For we mortals are weak and possess not a clue
how to process our thoughts the divine way that they do.

Hynek and Larsen and NASA and Roswell,
Santilli and some guy that doesn’t shoot film well.
They take up our bandwidth and never come clean
about the secrets they hold and all that they mean.

Is the Alien real? Did it ever breath life?
Or is the photography bad to hide slips of the knife?
Santilli, no doubt, sits drinking a brew
secure in the knowledge that nobody knew.

But is it so hard to reason this out
that the image we see is a fake, there’s no doubt
that we want to believe, we want it so bad
that if we’re not careful, we’ll find we’ve been had.

So I leave all of you with this one final thought:
Does the King really have clothes or have we been bought
by our own basic need to see something real
where the truth’s been replaced by a two network deal?

(How'd I do, Alfred?)

Later,

Roger Evans
