Subject: Satellite Tracking Reference

Folks,

Since satellites can often be the source of erroneous UFO
reports, I submit the follwing web page as a reference for
any UFO researcher. Perhaps it will occasionally help in
separating the wheat from the chaff when reports come in.

This comes from an email list (other than updates!) to
which I subscribe.

Bester Tracking Systems
Emeryville, California, USA

In the thirty years since the space race heated up, ground based
observers have had the pleasure of seeing or listening to
man-made objects passing overhead. Russian technology held the
world in awe as Sputnik beeped and blinked for an audience of
millions. Who can forget the anticipation of being creamed by
Skylab during its last failing orbits? Today there are several
distinct satellites visible with the naked eye, binoculars or
telescopes, and Bester Tracking Systems has data available for
such observations from major North American cities at this site.
Included are Shuttle Missions (once up), Russia's Space Station
Mir, International Space Station, Hubble Space Telescope,
Compton Gamma Ray Observatory, Upper Atmosphere Research
Satellite, Ocean Remote Sensing Satellite Seasat and the
Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission. For people living outside
of North America, the Visual Satellite Observer's Home Page
(http://www.satellite.eu.org/sat/vsohp/satintro.html) produced
by Jeff Hunt, Neil Clifford and Bart De Pontieu is an alternate
resource with many international pointers and options.
