More specifically, what you might find in the area west of Socorro. I drove through that area in 1996 to see the alleged site that Hesseman had identified as the one that the "cameraman" had described. However, like the rest of Ray's story, this facet of the tale didn't make a whole lot of sense either. No, there are no barns in the immediate area that Hesseman has pinpointed. Yes, there are a few structures that might be called "barns" on many of the ranches in that region, but I guess that depends on how you want to define "barn". That part of New Mexico was probably more economically tied to mining than it was to ranching, except along the Rio Grande river, which is just east of Socorro. Oh, and before anyone asks, beer was readily available in Socorro as well. But then again, it's (in part) a college town. Steve
