Dear Werner,

Here is a news from the AFP (French Press Agency). I hope it can
help.

I18-19990719-ROME, ITALY: An image taken from an amateur video
spotting a luminous flying object, possibly a meteorite,
crossing the sky over Rome in the early hours of Monday 19 July
1999. Many Romans, several hundreds according to Italian media,
rushed to phone the police and the fire brigade to report the
sighting, while an astrophysicist said in an interview with RAI
state television today that the object was a big meteorite. EPA
