Dear Confused in Canada:

I'm suffering from jet-lag and brown beer, and I can only think
of one solution.

'EBE-2" is describing a planet with two suns,  i.e. somehow
involved in an unlikely dance with a double-star system.

The only alternative would be a planet with a wildly variable
period of rotation!

I cannot imagine a living thing on such a world.

In short,  [to borrow a phrase from Bruce Maccabee]
