It would be a mistake to assume such a dismissive approach to his comments, as many have repeatedly sought to do. Where it not for "people like" Mr. Black [as Stanton Friedman puts it], then who is to cry foul when MUFON leadership dismisses - or _fires_ - its investigators when they assume positions contrary to party-line, who would argue against researchers such as Bruce Maccabee when they proclaim Gulf Breeze - a case so deeply suspect - to be of merit, and who might offer, out of their own pocket, lie-detector tests to the various 'suspects' of UFOdom as Mr. Black has? Were you not disturbed, Mr. Sandow, when Stanton Friedman published his recent book "Top-Secret/Majic" with an endorsing review by the tabloid Star Magazine on its cover? (Further, the back cover provides another promotional review by the Executive Producer of a science-fiction television program...) Does this constitute what can be expected by scientific objectivity that would be approved or published in 'peer reviewed journals' as Mr. Friedman once stated to Jerry Black? Are Friedman's 'peer reviewers' cronies from The Weekly World News or lackies hanging out behind the set of the next X-Files shoot? But when the reader pages through the book, one only needs to read the Foreword to get their share of skew and agenda. The author of Friedman's foreword is none-other-than Whitley Strieber - UFO abductee, contactee, claimant, former science-fiction writer (who has, by the way, afforded no response to Mr. Black's offer to re-polygraph him at Black's own expense). No, Mr. Sandow. Think of where Mr. Black's comments are headed, and the long-term implications of all this. Jerry Black should not be brushed off so routinely. We would do well to consider his thoughts, closely. Thanks, Kenny Young -- UFO Research http://home.fuse.net/ufo/
